Tony Alford is one of Australia’s most experienced production car drivers with multiple class wins at the Bathurst 12 Hour and a win in 2007 at the Dubai 24 Hours.
Having started racing in 2002, Alford has driven a vast array of marques including Nissan, BMW, Mitsubishi, and HSV, but most notably his Donut King Lotus Exige in which he claimed the Class C title at the 2014 Bathurst 12 Hour.
Other racing accolades include 3 race wins and 16 podiums in the Australian GT Championship, of which Alford finished 3rd in GT Sports in 2014 and 2nd in GT Production in 2010; 4th in Class SP8 at the 2008 24H Nurburgring; numerous top 10 class finishes in the Australian Production Car Championship; 7th in the 2008 Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race; two top-six class finishes in both the 2002 and 2003 Bathurst 24 Hour endurance races; plus many appearances in Commodore Cup, Mini Challenge, Thundersports and the Australian Manufacturers Chamionship.
Alford currently competes in the Heritage Touring Cars in the 1992 Bathurst 1000 winning ‘Godzilla’ Nissan GTR.
An accountant for more than two decades, Alford also is managing director of the successful food chain Donut King, a major supporter of Australian motorsport.
The 2015 Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai will be Alford’s first competitive race meeting with MARC Cars Australia in the Focus V8, before he joins the squad for the 2016 Bathurst 12 Hour.
