Australian race driver, car preparer and retailer Ryan McLeod is the owner and creator of MARC Cars Australia.

McLeod comes from a large motorsport family, which includes his father Peter who won the 1997 Bathurst 1000 with Holden icon Peter Brock.

Starting in karts at 16 years of age, McLeod, moved into car racing in 1993 in the NSW Formula Ford series, before an even greater leap into the 1994 Bathurst 12 Hour and Bathurst 1000. This began a run of three seasons in which he co-drive with his father Peter at the iconic Bathurst 1000.

In 1996, McLeod finished 3rd in class in the Australian GT Production Car Championship, followed by the Australian Drivers Championship in the Formula Holden open-wheeler, and then more various touring car races until a full-time season in the inaugural Konica Lites Series in 2000, which became the second-tier series to what is now known as V8 Supercars. McLeod won the first ever pole position, and took pole again and a round victory at Round 2.

With a growing family is next priority, McLeod took a backseat to racing in order to purpose team management duties, and was the team engineer at the 2000 Daytona 24 Hours for Australians Marcos Ambrose, Craig Baird and Paul Morris, as well as the 2003 Bathurst 24 Hour where his Porsche team finished 3rd outright.

In 2005, McLeod started Racer Industries in Queensland, which has since become one of the largest and most successful retail businesses for racing products in Australia.

Two years later, McLeod was back behind the wheel to claim the 2007 AMRS Endurance Race, before building his highly popular Holden Astra VXR racer, which competed in the 24 Hour races at Dubai, Silverstone and Cataluyna over a three year period. One of the Astra’s highlights was when McLeod was joined by father Peter and brother Gerard in the 2010 Bathurst 12 Hour taking the Class D win.

In 2014, the MARC Cars Australia concept was launched along with three new Ford Focus GTC cars, which won the Invitational class on debut at the Bathurst 12 Hour. The brand has since claimed class wins at the 2014 24H Zolder and 24H Barcelona, along with class podiums there and at the 12 Hours of Zandvoort. MARC Cars Australia was also first across the line at Race two of the 2014 Britcar Endurance Championship at Spa-Francorchamps. MARC Cars Australia continues to look forward to a very successful 2015 season with an expanding fleet of race cars in the near future.
