Nicholas Rowe is an up and coming racer from the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The 17 year old from Karratha began racing go-karts at age nine and hasn’t looked back since. The peak of his go-karting career culminated in Rowe travelling to the Las Vegas SuperNationals, the biggest event outside of the world championship and became the first Australian and youngest person ever to win the TAG senior class against current NASCAR and Indycar drivers at only 15 years of age. After seven state titles, Rowe was named the ‘Australian Karter of the Year’ in both 2012 and 2013.
Rowe then progressed into open wheelers, entering in Formula Ford at state level in Western Australia. Making the move to the Victorian State Series, Rowe debuted in the class with a pole position at San down Raceway. In 2014 Rowe competed at national level Formula Ford, claiming the final race win of the year at Phillip Island to claim forth outright in the series.
Rowe transitioned from bitumen to dirt in 2014, completing his debut season with a win in each state in Australia and became the youngest person ever to make the A main at the 74th Australian Speed car title.
In 2015 Rowe ventured to Asia to compete in the Formula Masters China Series, his first taste of a wings-and-slicks race car. It was in July that Rowe also entered the newly introduced Australian Formula 4 Championship. Balancing his speedway and open wheeler commitments, Rowe completed the 2015 Formula Masters China Series in third outright, finished seventh in Australian Formula 4, named WA Rookie of the Year in the Speed car Pro Series and competed at the United States Auto Club Midget Championship.
Rowe debuted in a MARC Car at a round of the Racer Industries Classic Sports Sedans at Queensland Raceway in 2015 with a pole position and a clean sweep of race wins. Rowe begins his 2016 campaign with his first drive of the iconic Mount Panorama circuit on board the MARC Mazda 3 V8 in the Bathurst 12 Hour.
